The Block Captains Beautification Program is designed to support neighborhood beautification and upkeep efforts, helping to KEEP IT CLEAN PHILLY.

How do I apply for a grant?

To apply for your grant, follow these steps:

  • Apply for your grant.
  • Receive your VISA gift card.
  • Beautify your block.

What can I use the grant for?

The grant can be used for beautification supplies (such as plants, flowers, paint, and paintbrushes) and tools and equipment for neighborhood upkeep (like leaf blowers, brooms, rakes, gloves, shovels, and snow blowers).

How much money can I receive from the grant?

You can receive up to $500, but you can reapply in the future if you meet the requirements.

What are the requirements to be eligible for the grant?

To be eligible for the grant, you must:

  • Be a Block Captain.
  • Provide a detailed description of what the grant will be used for.
  • Sign the agreement form.
  • Provide an itemized list and proof of purchase/receipt for any materials used in your project.
  • Provide before/after photos of your project.

What happens if I fail to provide the required items?

Failure to provide the required items will result in disqualification to apply for any future grants.
